What are ‘Seconds’?
In my world, a "second" is what I like to refer to as "perfectly imperfect"! These pieces might have slight glaze inconsistencies, tiny cracks or an uneven shape—just part of the charm of handmade ceramics.
Even with these minor quirks, they’re usually still functional and beautiful, and they come with a reduced price because of their imperfections.
Please note that all second sales are final, so be sure to take a good look at the images before you make your purchase.
What size bracelet should I order?.
Stretch Cord Bracelet: To ensure the best fit for your stretch bracelet, measure your wrist using a soft tape or you can measure using a piece of string then lay it flat a on a ruler. Measure your wrist at the wrist bone and add a tad extra for a comfortable fit.
Waxed Cord Bracelet: The trick to finding the right fit for your waxed cord bracelet is to measure the widest part of your hand, rather than the size of your wrist. Tuck your thumb in towards the palm of your hand and then use a tape measure to find the widest point.
caring for your sandalwood jewellery
Avoid swimming and bathing with your beads. Over time, the beads will darken as they absorb the natural oils in your skin and their scent will naturally fade. To refresh, rub a couple drops of sandalwood oil into the beads.
caring for your stretch cord bracelet
Avoid swimming and bathing with your bracelet on. Soap, and chemicals can damage the beads and stretch cord.
the best way to put on your stretch cord bracelet
Roll the bracelet on and off your wrist to avoid over stretching. Continued stretching stresses the cord and eventually, it will snap.
To keep your bracelet in tip-top shape, roll the beads over your wrist, stretching the cord as little as possible.
TELL ME ABOUT THE MATERIALS you use
Leather cord
My bolo leather cord (braid) is crafted from high-quality leather, ensuring durability and flexibility and is free of all the nasty stuff like lead, mercury, formaldehyde, chromium VI, cadmium etc .
I have tried and tested many types of round leather cord over the years and have found, in my opinion, Mediterranean leather cord is the best. Made in Europe from European hides, this quality cord is strong, matte in texture and is uniform in diameter and colour.
Wooden beads
The majority of wooden beads used in my makings are handcrafted from reclaimed timbers sourced from Kalgoorlie Goldfields, Western Australia and are oiled using environmentally friendly and food safe oil.
Sandalwood
I source my sandalwood beads from one of the largest and most reputable suppliers in India.
For thousands of years, sandalwood has been used in incenses and part of many religious, cultural, and spiritual practices. The aroma of sandalwood is known to calm the mind, promote focus and general wellbeing
Copper
I hand make all my jump rings from recycled copper wire. I source lengths of copper cable from a local scrap metal yard.
