MEET the maker
I’m Toni, and here’s a little about me.
I grew up on a wheat and sheep farm near Tammin, Western Australia, riding horses and building cubbies with my sisters and cousins. My dad was a strong practical man, who worked the farm and designed and built impressive equipment like tree-planters, gyrocopters and even a plane. Thanks to dad, I too have a strong practical approach to life and am pretty handy with most tools!!
On my mama’s side, the artistic gene runs deep. My great Oma was a magnificent artist and her home in the Kalamunda hills was a bohemian treasure trove. As a child, I was mesmerized by the eclectic decor - old teak furniture, artwork on every wall, rustic ceramics, trinkets, carved wooden masks and brass candelabras. I can still recall the smell of incense, fresh coffee brewing, oil paints & turpentine and the potted gardenia at the front door.
My Oma (grandmother) was an artistic soul. A painter, drawer, fluent in leather work, needlework and studied millinery - the art of hat making!
My mama was an artist in her own right, creating beautiful, bold paintings on Masonite with textured plaster and oil paints and even tried her hand at pottery on a wheel my dad built. Her appreciation of colour, texture, and composition was her superpower. Our family home on the farm and later on, her seaside retreat were stylish, artistic and calming spaces that always made me feel centered.
After thirty plus years of living in the Pilbara with my husband Rippa, our daughter Charli and our blue-eyed dog Rosi, we now reside in Dunsborough in a home filled with Oma’s teak furniture, artwork and trinkets!!
I’m a self-taught, small-batch potter working from my home studio. I love the slow, methodical rhythm of hand-building ceramics—it’s both grounding and therapeutic. Using slab building and carving techniques, I craft functional pieces and statement jewellery.
If one of my makings catches your eye, I thank you for supporting my little business and I hope it brings you as much joy as I had making it.
Peace, love and pottery!
